Windows Subsystem for Android Preview was just released for all Windows 11 users, basically allowing you to run Android apps on a PC. It does not, however, allow access to the Google Play Store. Instead, Microsoft teamed with Amazon to provide Android apps to Windows 11 customers via the Amazon App Store.
If you don’t want to download and install Android apps via the Amazon App Store, here’s how to install the Google Play Store on Windows 11.
Important: Because Microsoft does not support the Google Play Store on Windows 11, things might go wrong at any time. Microsoft may provide an upgrade that throws a kink in the works by removing the Google Play Store from your machine. Keep in mind that your behavior, devices, and possible damages are all your responsibility.
This article has been thoroughly tested before being published, but we cannot guarantee that the Google Play Store will operate on your computer. Also, keep in mind that Android apps on Windows 11 have minimum hardware requirements.
Starting with a “clean” installation with no existing Windows Subsystem for Android instances is recommended. Uninstall it if you already have one.
Enter optional features by pressing Win + R. To activate Virtual Machine Platform and Windows Subsystem for Linux, you’ll need this. The latter is required to add Google Services to the WSA kernel.
Wait for Windows to download the necessary files after clicking OK. When asked, restart your computer.
It’s now time to have Windows Subsystem for Android installed. Go to store.rg-adguard.net and log in. It enables file downloads from the Microsoft Store.
Set ProductID as the first drop-down list, then type 9P3395VX91NR into the search box. Select Slow from the second drop-down menu, then click the checkmark icon on the button.
A list of accessible files will be generated by the website. Find the biggest files, which “weigh” around 1.2GB, by scrolling down. Its name includes the MSI bundle extension.
Also, save the Microsoft.UI.Xaml.2.6 2.62112.3002.0 x64 8wekyb3d8bbwe.appx file to your computer. You may need it for troubleshooting in the future.
Go to the OpenGapps website and log in. You may download Google Services for your PC from there. Choose the x86 64 platforms, Android 11.0, and the pico variant from the drop-down menu. To download the archive, click the big red icon.
After that, go to the Microsoft Store and download Ubuntu.
Finally, click to this URL to obtain the WSAGAScript from a GitHub repository.
That’s all the files you’ll need to get the Google Play Store up and running on Windows 11. We’ll now go over how to get the files ready and alter the WSA kernel.
Locate the big msixbundle file that you obtained from store.rg-adguard.net. Use any archive programme to open the file. 7Zip is a good alternative that you can get for free from the official website.
The repository contains a large number of msix-files. Locate the largest one (about 720MB) and open it in 7Zip.
Navigate to drive C using File Explorer. Create a new folder called WindowsSubsystemAndroid and rename it.
Return to 7Zip with the msix-file open. All files from the file should be extracted to the WindowsSubsystemAndroid folder.
You must now delete a number of files and directories. AppsMetadata, AppxBlockMap, AppxSignature, and Content Types should all be deleted.
Create a new folder on the C drive. Rename it to GAppsWSA this time.
Open the WSAGAScript archive, as well as the single folder included within it. All of the files in the folder should be extracted to GAppsWSA.
Locate and transfer the archive you obtained from the OpenGapps website to C:GAppsWSA#Gapps (assuming your current Windows installation is on drive C).
Return to WindowsSubsystemAndroid on drive C and copy the product, system, syste ext, and vendor files there.
All files are now secured and loaded, and WSL is ready for hacking.
Ubuntu may be started from the Start menu. If this is your first time using Ubuntu, the operating system will display an error and prompt you to download the Linux kernel update package. This link will take you to the official Microsoft documentation.
Close Ubuntu, run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Restart Ubuntu. This time, you’ll be asked to create a new user with a name and password. It’s worth noting that the OS won’t show you the password characters as you input.
We must now navigate to the GAppsWSA directory. On your keyboard, type cd /mnt/c/GAppsWSA/ and press Enter.
It’s now time to use WSL to run a series of commands. Press Enter after typing apt update. Allow the system to finish the procedure. Execute the following instructions one by one, pressing Enter after each one.

dos2unix./apply.sh
dos2unix./extend and mount images.sh
dos2unix./unmount images.sh

Your Google Services-enabled WSA kernel is now complete. All that’s left is to install Windows Subsystem for Android and verify that your Windows 11 computer’s Google Play Store is operational.
Copy the following files to C:GAppsWSA#IMAGES: product, system, system ext, and vendor. Copy the files and paste them into C:WindowsSubsystemAndroid.
Rename the kernel file to kernel bak under C:WindowsSubsystemAndroidTools.
Locate the kernel x64 64 file in the C:GAppsWSAmisc folder. Copy the file to the C:WindowsSubsystemAndroidTools folder and paste it there.
Change the name of the file to kernel.
It’s now time to switch on Developer Mode on your PC. Go to Privacy and Security > For Developers in the Settings app. Toggle the Developer Mode switch on, and when prompted, confirm the operation.
This is the last stretch. All that’s left is to run a programme on Windows 11 to install WSA via the Google Play Store. Select Windows Terminal from the Start menu by right-clicking the Start menu button (Admin).
Copy and paste the following code: C:WindowsSubsystemAndroidAppxManifest.xml Add-AppxPackage -Register Enter the code.
The following error message may appear in Terminal: -Add-AppxPackage: -Add-AppxPackage: -Add Package failed updates, dependency or conflict validation, and deployment failed with HRESULT: 0x80073CF3. Windows is unable to install the package. Launch the Microsoft.UI.Xaml.2.6 2.62112.3002.0 x64 8wekyb3d8bbwe.appx file you downloaded earlier to resolve the problem. Rep the previous step after that.
The Windows Subsystem for Android is now available for download. Locate Windows Subsystem for Android in the Start menu. It will be launched.
Toggle Developer Mode on and then click Files. This will launch WSA (do not share diagnostic data with Microsoft), and you will receive notifications from Google Services about installing apps that include all of the required components.
The Google Play Store will appear in the list of all apps in a minute or two. You can open it, sign in with your Google account, and download as many applications and games as you like. Keep in mind that some of them may not function on PCs running Windows.
All apps downloaded from the Google Play Store on Windows 11 will appear in the Start menu as standard programs. You may remove them in the same way that you uninstall native Windows programs.
